Maternal Line
My mom's family comes from Virginia. As a matter of fact, most originate from Botetourt County, Virginia. Much of my research about this side of the family centers there. So much so that I have to remember to branch out from there into other counties or states. Botetourt County was formed in 1770 from Agusta County, Virginia. At one time, it encompassed at least parts of present-day Craig County, Roanoke County, Alleghany County, and West Virginia.
